Torre Pendente di Pisa: The Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is really a beautiful tower and its leaning ALOT! Although you can no longer climb to the top, this is the place where Galileo Galilei carried out his famous gravity experiments. The thing you don't see in this picture is the enormous stack of counter weights and the maze of cables that are now in place to try to keep the tower from taking the final plunge. |
