Thesis Done.

June 2nd 2006 painfully early

The thesis is done. I would say more about how satisfying it is to have a lump of 90 pages sitting in front of you all bearing your mark of authorship. Or, how shocking it seems to have just fulfilled the final requirement for an MIT degree. But alas, I am far too tired of the thing to give it another thought for at least two weeks. For those who are curious what my thesis would look like from above …

A bird's eye view of my thesis.

W00t!

It’s miller time. Or more likely, it’s baby time. Then sleep time, then baby time. Then, most certainly it’s miller time. It’ll be miller time instead of Guinness time because you haven’t been to the store to get the things you like in a long long time.

Congrats! Writing is a pain, especially when you’re under the gun. Desertion and Dissertation share too many letters to not be cousins. You can use that.

If you haven’t done so, print up all the copies you’ll ever need and get the bound-ed-ed now. It’s been 3 years, and I still haven’t done that. Maybe if you figure out how to bind the thing, you can do mine too.

Tomorrow, rewrite the whole thing, but use second person. Second person is the extreme version of active voice. Plus, it may allow you to sell your dissertation as a choose your own adventure book. And that’s where the big bucks are.

Anyways, nice job getting it done, especially with all the other things going on. Next pony beer is on me.

:) Congrats Kelly! Looking forward to reading it.

Tomorrow, rewrite the whole thing as a screenplay starring Christopher Walken.
